We aim to build a strong sense of community ensuring Burford remains a unique Cotswold town which residents and visitors enjoy.
Burford is unique in having 262 listed buildings, the High Street having the highest percentage of listed properties in the country, two Grade 1 listed buildings and all within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Conservation Area
We aim to preserve this Heritage

There's a proposal for 70 houses with a car and coach park on Sheep Street as part of WODC's Local Plan. This Sheep Street development threatens to destroy an ancient field, which is significant as the site of the Battle between the kings of Wessex and Mercia, celebrated with the Dragon Procession. The proposed development will exacerbate Burford traffic problems, leading to a fourfold increase in the number of houses on Sheep Street. Consequently, traffic will increase as well. If this proposal receives consent, it could also trigger a review of the Cole's Field development in east Burford, further jeopardizing efforts to protect Burford heritage.
There's a current consultation phase for WODC's Local Plan which details the intended housing and parking development on Sheep Street. Click below for more details of the plan and how to register your comments to WODC

We'd love to talk with Burford residents about their thoughts on future developments in the Town, especially concerning the Sheep Street development and how it might affect Burford traffic problems. Join us at the Warwick Hall on Monday and Thursday between 3pm and 4pm, as we also discuss ways to protect Burford heritage.
